Finger Pointing (January 17)

I've had a great time browsing through the galleries today, here are my picks (please visit the galleries and leave a comment or two if you find them inspiring as well!)

aly321's Music in Me

Great crop on the photo here, it draws you straight into the page. I really like the one sided composition and all the paintwork too.

Britgirl's I shoot people..

Ha ha!! Great title and such a wonderful recap of 6 months worth of photos, it must be very satisfying to see all these pictures together on one page.

So Good by Dani Felipelli

Ooooh, fun fun fun! I love the colours here and the characterful photos, such a happy, energetic page!

Simple Pleasures by Jennifer Barrette

Great composition again here, that arrow is the perfect finishing touch and the tiny strip of striped paper adds some clever colour interest.

Kelleanne's Prince Charming

This is so beautifully scrapped, you are drawn straight to those gorgeous little eyes! Great element placement too.

Leila's Green Dress

Ha ha ha!! I have to admit a bias here - I love this song! Such a fun layout, the green shape behind "buy" is inspired! A nice reminder that layouts don't have to have photos or any deep meaning behind them, they can just be made for fun!

woodoo_bryn's Wonderful

Ahhh, such masterful use of my mortal enemy - patterned paper. Wonderful choice of colours and I really like the journalling on top of the photo.

zakirahzakaria's Me Facts

This page just shines, it's beautiful. I love all the rich colours and the random facts.

zwyck's This life is yours

This is so striking, the effects on the photo are just wonderful.

Finger Pointing (January 16)

I've literally spent hours and hours and then some more in the galleries today. There was so much goodiness in there which made it even harder to pick my favorites!

But here they are:

Transition by Amanda1201

This page made me stop in my tracks, the graphic style is stunning, the colors are vibrant and the titlework and journaling are superb!

Princesa by Paula Francovig

Love the stitched scraps of papers here and there. Her layering and shadowing almost made me want to reach out and touch it.

Week #2 - Accept by createwings

I've always been fascinated by art journaling, especially when done NOT digital. This is a page in a handmade journal where she journaled the whole week around her chosen word. Love the painted paper and the sectioned of parts for each day. Truly inspirational!

Goal --> Fit by cintiascrap

Ahem, she must've read my mind LOL

Love her take on it with the 'fat' before and the trim and 'fit' after.

viva las otis by Joan

This is SO COOL! Full of glam and rock 'n roll, Otis totally rocks her world. And the perspective is awesome!

Boy by Gisele Cristina

This page is full of energy! Love those seemingly tossed elements on the page, fun page!

I Love Buttons !! by ivana alves

The colors, the buttons, the titlework, this is so creative and fun.

a quiet moment by mrshobbes

It was the fabulous brushwork that made me take another look at this page, the design of it with the elements is just beautiful!

Itinerary 2 by sassyindy

Another art journal page, this time fully doodled on. Fabulously journaled for each day of the week. When I grow up I want to be like her. Yeah, fat chance LOL

Finger Pointing {January 14}

Hey everyone, sorry I'm late again. Apparently I'm running on Erin time this year. *sigh*

Here are my picks for today, I loved going through them, such a sweet way to start the day....coffee and art!

Imagine by kriscrosby

I love the depth here, the elements layering beautifully and I feel like I can touch it. Fantastic colour choices too!

Fashionista by neenee

Wow! Super cool element placement here! She has a lot on the page but it flows and doesn't look cluttered. Awesomeness!

More then Words Can Say by shawtyp

I love the delicate simplicity here. This is a powerful page with few words, totally working the subject and title. Very clever and way pretty.

Lois by MissVivi

This is just plain fun! Love the vertical design, the swirly, doodly bits and the bright splashes of orange!!! Fantastic composition and awesome typography!

Silence by marleen

This gives me shivers. It's so calm and still and beautiful. The mixture of photography and typography really grab me. Stunning!

Magic Balloons by cnscrap

She has so much detail packed into the focul point here! Very cool, this LO just begs you to look and look and look. It makes my eyes happy!

10 Things by lynnirene

LOVE this! I love getting glimpses into what make people who they are! The scattered journaling really mimics the inside of someones head and I love the colours and sillhouette. Rockin' page!

10 Things I Love by scrapmommaof3

I hit the jackpot on AAM pages today! I love this! Not only is it 10 things about her, but it's 10 positive, upbeat things! It's honest and it's just dang cool with the numbers all tumbled together!

On the Way by lisiel

In the midst of all the lovely, wintery coloured LO's this one just POPPED!! LOVE the colours, design, photo....this one gave me a big smile and I kept going back....great flow here and awesome use of the elements! Love it!

Finger Pointing (January 13)

Good Morning!  I'm so excited to be back after the holiday break.  The galleries are full of inspiration.  I love seeing the year in review LO's, the project 365 LO's, and the resolution LO's.  Great stuff!

Woof by scarletsierra  -Great element placement!  The photos just blend right into the scene but they are still the focus of the LO.

Week 1 2010 by lpate  -This was my favorite 365 LO this week.  I love her photography, the clean lines and journal blocks.

sweet tooth by Nachtamazone  -Perfect color choices to highlight the photos.  I really love her shadowing.  I think it's easy to forget to make your shadows darker on darker backgrounds.  These are fabulous!

Photo Shoot by nikkiARNGwife  -I love the succession of photos and the journaling is priceless!  Awesome page.

Loane so pretty by Xtel  -Can you feel the warmth radiating off of this page?  Excellent color and element choices.  Notice there is only one 3 dimensional element and it is perfectly placed to almost disguise itself into the photo.

glimpses by aneal  -I'm a sucker for slice of life LO's (have I mentioned that before? LOL).  But the journaling here actually caused me to tear up a little bit.  I can't tell you how many times I've gotten frustrated about the pile of shoes in front of the door.  Thanks Audrey for reminding me to cherish those piles!

chic chic by LivyBug  -Way to rock the pattern paper background!!  The framing and different crops of the photo (gorgeous btw) really add interest to the page.

Absolutely Winter by sue.falstaff -This page is so wonderfully crisp and clean.  But notice the photos are tilted just a touch to add that essential visual interest.

15 things by joannknnrd -not all lists have to be lined up perfectly.  I love the composition here and the fact that it's a photoless page.

Finger Pointing (January 12th)

Hi All! Sarah here today bringing you some finger pointing goodness! So much inspiration I don't even know where to get started but I am going to just dive in!

koekjes bakken by Brien

I LOVE a layout that really can tell a story with just the photos. This one has journaling and you don't even need to be able to read it to know what its about. Of course it doesn't hurt when the photos are just way sweet either huh!

2009 in Review by crystalbella77

One of my favorite YIR pages I have seen from this past year. I love the soft pretty colors she choose and the photos are amazing!I also love the matting and pretty title work!!

Love this perspective. The photo is sooooooo cute! The blocking is pretty and the awesome use of negative space just gives this page just a really nice flow and balance!

35 weeks by pSyren

I can honestly say I am going to miss being pregnant but OMG this page is GORGEOUS! I love the color and the funky design. I would love to have some thing like this in one of my baby books for sure. I just don't even know where to start. Its divine!

First snow photo 2010

Love this!!!! The composition is GORGEOUS. Very classy! And the photo is beautiful. I love the soft colors and the cut out in the blocking to emphasize the snow flake. Just beautifully scrapped!

Finger Pointing (January 11)

Woohoo! My first Gallery Standout post of 2010! Everyone ready for some great layouts?

Gabi's one little word

One of the things I love about the start of the year is the One Little Word layouts that start appearing in the gallery. This one is a perfect example of a clean, well designed layout. I love how the focus is really on the word and the meaning and choices behind the word choice, while still being a fun and interesting page.

kayleigh's Here are the days ...

I absolutely love the concept behind this page. What a cool way to document life's changes and the possibilities are just endless. Fantastic design here too, as always.

Erica67's You gotta go

I know the description in the gallery says she was just playing with her stash, but I absolutely LOVE what she came up with! This page is so cool and graphic. Really really stunning.

makabe's Doc Martens

One of things I love most about scrapbooking is it gives us the chance to share stories that might otherwise not get shared, and this page is a great example of that. I totally love the story behind her boots. The page design here is gorgeous too.

sascedar's {inspiration}

This is such a stunning page design. The unique effect on the photo and the subtle word accents just make the whole page pop.

d2vasquez's My Favorite Things

This page is so cute! I love the linear design and all the adorable little accents. Fantastic page!

sbaird's The-Moments-The-Story

This page totally cracks me up. I absolutely love the 5-year old perspective of the photos and the humorous journaling. Such a perfect example of capturing the moment scrapbooking.

Dani Alencar's Details

Another great example of a one-little-word page. I love the homesewn feel to the page and the rich colors. Fantastic.

michelleL's Week One

Another year...another bunch of Project 365 layouts flooding the gallery. This page is a fantastic example. Great photos (love the effects on them), clean design and an emphasis on that week's story. Love it.
