My Right Hand (wo)man

I'm not sure what I would do without Amy. She has been my support and anchor throughout this first year of GS. (Did you know that February 2009 is our one year anniversary?! Yeah, us!) She has a great spirit and she rocks my world in paper making.

A bit about Amy -

I'm married to a railroad conductor who is on the road quite a bit. That leaves me in charge of taking care of our three children. My daughter is freshman in high school and the boys are age 9 and 10. I am addicted to Starbucks White Mochas! Besides designing at The-Lilypad, I do custom design work for professional photographers and I watch my 2 year old nephew three days a week.

I started paper scrapping when my 2nd child was born. I've always used the computer for journaling and titles so it was a natural progression to digital. I did some design work for Rakscraps, but really took a long time learning the ropes before I jumped into selling my own designs. It took the prodding of Natalie Braxton and Amy Martin to convince me! I'm thrilled to be able to help support my family doing something I love.

What is your all time "read over and over again" book?

I read so much I don't really go back too often. I will throw my favorites on a shelf and try to reread them at least once before I give them away.

If you could pack your bags tomorrow for a two week vacation where would you go?

Sanibel Island in Florida

What is your favorite thing about yourself?

I try to be as compassionate as I can. I always look at both sides of a story and don't jump to judgment.

Do you like to dance? Or sing in the shower?

I sing all the time and I can be extremely goofy ...especially around my kids. I'm sure they're thrilled! LOL!

Besides digital scrap book what is your favorite type of art?

I love mixed media stuff!

What was your favorite subject in school?

Reading and music

What are your top three songs on your mp3 player?

I just checked my play count. "Stupid for You" by Marie Digby, "Always Be My Baby" by David Cook, and "The Last Thing on Your Mind" by Lights.

Dog? Or cat?

Tough question...I've always had cats until my son became allergic and now we are really wanting a puppy!!

What is your all time favorite comfort food? A bowl of cold cereal

If you don’t know her you are missing a real treat. There are not many “ladies” left in our society but she truly shines. Her sweet giving spirit is paired with her gentile.  

A little background on Sabrina Dupre

I am the 40 year old Colombian born daughter of an artist mom and photographer dad. The blessed SAHM of the two sweetest daughters, Isabella (10) and Sofia (6).  I've been married to my husband, Jon for 14 years. I started designing in May 2008 and sell my designs at Shabby Pickle Designs. I use PSCS2 and get inspiration from everything- my daughter's bedrooms, fabric, magazine ads, music, and decor around my house.

I still scrapbook and am a scrapper first and foremost!! I enjoy all types of art besides digi scrapping/designing. My favorites are photography and watercolors. I also make jewelry that
I sell locally. I am a dessert loving, Starbucks addicted Pisces who loves Colombia food, the beach and church bells.

What is your all time “read over and over again” book?
I don't have any one book that I have read over and over, but my all time favorite book is To Kill a Mockingbird

If you could pack your bags tomorrow for a two week vacation where would you go?

Colombia. My heart aches to be there. I miss my family, friends and Colombian food.

What is your favorite thing about yourself?

My loyalty

Do you like to dance? Or sing in the shower?

I have always loved dancing and I don't sing in the shower but when I'm in the car, my girls and I are always singing!

Besides digital scrap book what is your favorite type of art?
Photography and painting with watercolors.

What was your favorite subject in school?

Art.  My senior year, I only had a partial day of classes so I spent half the day in the art room!!

What is the strangest thing you ever did?

Made fish prints with real fish! My husband loves fishing and one day when he brought home some fish, I decided to paint them, and made prints on rice paper. We then cleaned them up and ate them!

What are your top three songs on your mp3 player?

Well, that changes every couple of weeks but right now,

Both!! We have a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, Owen and a striped tabby cat, Gaby

Anything Colombian or sweets. I have a huge dessert fetish!

Having hung around the digi community for awhile I begin to notice this scrapper who continually hit it out of the ball park every single time. It really didn't matter what type of elements she used it was always good.

So, I asked her to come and hang out here at GS. Although she continually apologizes for her lack of "good english" I love her style and generosity.

Amanda Resende...a little bit about her.

I'm brazilian, 35 years old, single again (2 ex-husbands, but I'm looking for the third, no, just kidding!) and SAHM to 2 boys (Pedro Henrique - 11 years old and João Marcelo - 10 years old) and one little girl (Rebeca - she turned 3 on friday!). My mom visits us everyday and we live so happy here in Brazil!

I started digital scrapbooking in December 06 and designing in August 08 by an invitation from Amy Hutchinson. I think my kits just reflect my pages's style, i try to do something like a paper scrap, just can't resist!

I love bright colors and paper stuff, like paper flowers, paper alphas, paper hearts.

I use photoshop CS3 to design. I am inspired by my kids, their jokes, their toys, their clothes, their books... when the idea is already in my mind, i usually spent 3 days to make a kit.
